Walking in the local parades with colleagues and the SECC bus or van are always fun times. Tomato Festival, Migration Festival, Apple Festival and of course the Santa Claus parades at night – weather could be mild or frigid, clear or snowy, and you never knew if the lights would stay on the whole way along the route. Folks on the sidewalk would always shout, smile and wave, even the occasional run up and hug. Feet may have been sore, hands cold or sweating like there’s no tomorrow, always a great time and never any candy left.
