I taught adult ESL in the 1990’s, first at the old Selkirk School, then in United Church Sunday School classrooms, and lastly at Ridge School. SECC provided a vibrant daycare program and busing for students and their little ones, when needed. This was a very rewarding time for me. I taught newcomers English but learned so much more from them. There was a camaraderie between teachers and students, and relationships were built between students and teachers, some of which still continue today. My life was enriched, and I have many cherished memories from that time.
